The St. John’s Research Institute (SJRI) is a part of the St John’s National Academy of Health Sciences, run by the CBCI Society for Medical Education. SJRI is currently recruiting for the post of Project Research Scientist -II (Non Medical) for the ICMR Burden of Disease IITB Project in Bangalore. This is a sub-objective of the main project titled: ‘Developing Models to Estimate and Project Disease Burden to Inform Control and Elimination Strategies for Priority Diseases in India’, funded by ICMR. Job Overview

St. John’s Research Institute (SJRI) is one of the consortium partners of the National Disease Modelling Consortium (NDMC), anchored by IIT Bombay. For the ICMR Burden of Disease IITB Project, SJRI is hiring one Project Research Scientist -II (Non Medical) to work on the objective of estimating the national and subnational burden of NCDs in India using an integrated approach combining available health surveys, administrative data, and advanced statistical model as well as machine leaning methods.

Eligibility Criteria

Preferred qualifications are PhD or MSc / MPH or B. Tech / BE. 3 years of experience is required.

Age Limit

The age limit is 40 years.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Clean and preprocess large datasets (NFHS, NSSO, IHCI, LASI, CRS, SRS, GBD).
  • Lead the design of disease burden estimation, ensure the appropriate use of survey/administrative data, interpret findings.
  • Apply various statistical model to predict prevalence/incidence and mortality at subnational level.
  • Develop, adaptation, and validate statistical and ML models.
  • Estimation burden of disease attributed to various risk factors.
  • Writing report and research article.
