Job Overview
NCCS Pune is conducting walk-in interviews for the positions of Project Associate – I, Project Research Scientist – II (Non-Medical), Project Technical Support – III, and Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for different research projects. The positions are temporary and co-terminus with the project tenure.

Vacancy Details, Eligibility & Salary
1. Project Associate – I (Sr. No.: 01)
- Number of posts: 01
- Essential Qualification: Master’s Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences / MVSc or bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent.
- Total Monthly Emoluments:
- Rs. 31,000/- + HRA for scholars selected through National Eligibility Tests (CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship or GATE) or National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies.
- Rs. 25,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under the above category.
- Age Limit: Not more than 35 years as on date of Interview.
- Project Tenure: Up to 28/02/2029
2. Project Research Scientist – II (Non-Medical) (Sr. No.: 02)
- Number of posts: 01
- Essential Qualification: Post Graduate Degree (Microbiology / Life Sciences / Biotechnology / Biomedical Science / Biochemistry / Plant Biology / Animal Biology) with three years post qualification Experience OR PhD in any branch of Life Sciences. Candidates holding degrees other than these fields will not be considered.
- Total Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 67,000/- + HRA
- Age Limit: Not more than 40 years as on date of Interview.
- Project Tenure: Up to 04.02.2027 (extendable for two more years subjected to approval).
3. Project Technical Support – III (Sr. No.: 03)
- Number of posts: 01
- Essential Qualification: Three Years Graduate degree in relevant subject/field (Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Microbiology/ Life Sciences/ Biomedical Science) + three Years post qualification experience OR PG in relevant subject/field. Candidates holding degrees other than these fields will not be considered.
- Total Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 28,000/- + HRA
- Age Limit: Not more than 35 years as on date of Interview.
- Project Tenure: Up to 04.02.2027 (extendable for two more years subjected to approval).
4. Project Associate – I (Sr. No.: 04)
- Number of posts: 01
- Essential Qualification: Four years Bachelor’s Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences/Master’s Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences/BVSc. /B.Pharm or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized university or equivalent.
- Total Monthly Emoluments:
- Rs. 37,000/- + HRA for scholars selected through National Eligibility Tests (CSIR-UGC NET including Lectureship or GATE) or National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies.
- Rs. 30,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under the above category.
- Age Limit: Not more than 50 years as on date of Interview.
- Project Tenure: Up to 05.08.2028
5. Junior Research Fellow (JRF) (Sr. No.: 05)
- Number of posts: 01
- Essential Qualification: Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science or Graduate / Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course selected through CSIR- UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and/or GATE, OR through National Level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions (DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MoE, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, NISER etc.).
- Total Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 31,000/- + HRA (Enhancement subjected to DBT approval)
- Age Limit: Not more than 28 years as on date of Interview.
- Project Tenure: Up to 31/08/2028
6. Project Technical Support – III (Sr. No.: 06)
- Number of posts: 01
- Essential Qualification: Three years Graduate degree in relevant subject/field (Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Microbiology/ Life Sciences/ Biomedical Science) + Three years post qualification experience OR PG in relevant subject/field. Candidates holding degrees other than these fields will not be considered.
- Total Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 28,000/- + HRA
- Age Limit: Not more than 35 years as on date of Interview.
- Project Tenure: Up to 04.02.2027 (extendable for two more years subjected to approval).
Age Relaxation
Age relaxation will be considered as on the date of interview. Age relaxation is 5 years in case of Women/SC/ST/PH candidates and 3 years in case of OBC candidates as per Government of India rules. OBC candidates must produce latest/valid non-creamy layer certificate.
Selection Process
The selection process will involve a walk-in interview. The prescribed educational qualifications and experience are the bare minimum, and mere possession of the same does not entitle candidates to be called for the Interviews. NCCS reserves the right to call for Interviews only those candidates who in its opinion are likely to be suitable.
How to Apply
Candidates are required to attend the walk-in interview on the scheduled date. Applicants must bring the Application form duly filled in along with hard copies of original documents and one set of self-attested hard copies of the following:
- Duly filled application form.
- Recent passport size colour photograph.
- Proof of date of birth (Aadhaar is not considered as proof of DOB).
- Essential qualifying Final / Provisional Degree certificate.
- Caste Certificate, Latest/valid non-creamy layer certificate, if applicable.
- Work experience certificates, if applicable.
- Copies of NET/GATE/National Level examinations documents, if applicable.
Note: No soft copies will be accepted. Requests for online interviews will not be considered. No TA/DA will be admissible for attending the interview.

Important Instructions
- The above advertised positions are filled up purely on a temporary basis for the limited time on extramural projects. The appointed person shall have no claim of appointment/absorption in the funding agency or in NCCS, Pune.
- Selected candidates will have to join duty within 15 days of the receipt of the offer of appointment.
- All experience gained shall be preferably from Govt. Organisations or from an institution of repute and gained after acquiring the minimum essential qualification.
- Candidates not having Final / Provisional Degree certificate as per the Essential qualification signed by the Institutional/ University Competent authority are not eligible to apply.
