Important Instructions
- The minimum credit requirement for graduation will be 100 for candidates admitted to this program.
- Maximum of 24 credits may be earned through coursework (online or offline), and a minimum of 80 credits are to be earned through research.
- Doctoral Studies Committee (DSC) may advise candidates to acquire credits through Independent Research and/or Independent Seminar, limited to a maximum of 08 credits.
- The requirement for Aarohan, Comprehensive Viva-Voce, Writing, and Physical Education courses is waived off.
- PhD students must complete their thesis work before they are allowed to submit their thesis, which may require additional credits beyond 100.
- Students should register for a minimum of 8 credits in regular semesters. Maximum registration can be up to 16 credits in regular semesters and four credits in summer term/winter break.
- The academic performance requirement will be the same as that of the regular PhD programme.
- Considering significant experience, candidates may request a waiver of the qualifying examination.
- Candidates are expected to clear their proposal defense within two years of joining the PhD programme.
- There shall be no residency requirement except for any course registered offline, which must be carried out while being resident.
