Job Overview
IIT Bombay is looking for a Junior Research Fellow to work on the “DBT Pan IIT Center for Bioenergy – Phase 2” project. The project involves a metabolomics-guided bioengineering strategy to systematically map and optimize carbon flux pathways in cyanobacteria to enhance the yield of bioenergy substitutes. This job requires on-site experimental work and cannot be done remotely.

Eligibility Criteria
- Master’s degree in Bioanalytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical analysis or a closely related field.
- Six months to one year of research experience is required.
- Candidates who have qualified GATE or GPAT and similar national-level exams will be preferred.
- Demonstrated hands-on expertise in Mass spectrometry (GC/ LC) based chromatographic method development and method validation is a must.
- Experience in mass spectrometry data analysis is essential, including strong skills in processing raw mass spectrometry data, annotating peaks, and performing statistical analysis.
- Highly proficient in utilizing established metabolomics platforms for multivariate statistical modeling and pathway interpretation is required.
- Candidates with demonstrated expertise in mining and analyzing public omics datasets will be considered an added advantage.
- Proficient in biological sample handling and advanced sample preparation techniques, including protein precipitation (PP) and liquid–liquid extraction (LLE) along with chemical derivatization protocols for LC/GC–MS/MS–based metabolomics and knowledge of volatilomics, will be preferred.
- Proficiency in oral and written communication skills with ability to work in interdisciplinary research environments.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office word, excel, and power point is required.
Pay Details
Consolidated Salary Rs. 37000/- per month.
