Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the purely temporary positions of one Senior Research Fellow in the Sree PVF project entitled “Evaluating the potential of rhizospheric engineering using a microbial consortium for chickpea protection against dry root rot associated disease complex under drought, and for enhanced yield under field conditions”, under the supervision of Dr. Senthil Kumar Muthappa, Scientist, National Institute of Plant Genome Research (NIPGR).

Emoluments

Rs. 42000/- plus 27% HRA per month as sanctioned in the project.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates having Master’s degree in Agriculture / Life Sciences with at least 55% (or equivalent) marks in master degree and a minimum of two year of post M.Sc. research experience and fulfilling the guidelines as per DST-OM number DST/PCPM/Z-06/2022 dated June 26, 2023, are eligible to apply. Experience of working with dry root rot disease in plants or any similar pathology topics is required and mandatory for the shortlisting. Areal and other imaging/disease scoring in laboratory, greenhouse and field conditions is required and the candidate must have demonstrated ability to handle these requirements.

Important Instructions

  • The project involves development of microbial consortium, mass production, packing and testing in greenhouse, research plots and farmers fields at NIPGR, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu field locations.
  • Any candidate reporting after 11:00 a.m. will not be entertained for walk-in interview.
  • The candidates must ascertain eligibility before applying, as ineligible candidates will not be interviewed.
  • All the candidates are requested to appear for the interview with complete bio-data in given format and original degree/experience certificates and transcripts for verification.
  • Canvassing in any form or bringing influence, political or otherwise, will lead to the disqualification of the candidate(s).
  • Incomplete application and those in the wrong format will be summarily rejected.
  • No TA/DA will be paid for attending the walk-in-interview.
