The National Institute of Immunology (NII) is inviting applications for the position of Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical). NII is committed to advanced research addressing the basic mechanisms involved in body’s defence to identify modalities for manipulation of the immune system to provide protection against diseases.
Job Overview
NII is recruiting for one position of Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) for a time-bound sponsored project titled “Delineating the genetic interactions between Histone Demethylases and DNA damage repair genes to develop personalized tumour detection and treatment”, funded by ICMR. The project is tenable till 3 years. The selected candidates will be on contract for one year or till the duration of the project whichever is shorter, at a time.

Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification: Candidate should have PhD degree in any field of Biological Sciences with at least 1 first author research publication in standard refereed journal as listed in Journal Citations Reports (JCR).
- Essential Experience: Experience in molecular biology, CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing, and epigenetics (specifically ChIP-seq and DNA methylation profiling) is a must. Handling of mammalian cell lines and advanced cell culture techniques, including the establishment and maintenance of patient-derived organoids, is a must.
- Desirable Experience: Candidates with experience in bioinformatics (Whole Exome Sequencing data analysis), drug-sensitivity assays, and processing clinical tumour samples are also encouraged to apply.
Salary Details
- The selected candidates will draw consolidated emoluments as per Institute Rules: Rs. 56,000/- Per month plus HRA 30% (As per funding agency norms).
