Eligibility Criteria
Scientist Grade-II
- Medical (Essential): MBBS from MCI recognized Medical College AND PG Medical degree in Microbiology/ Biochemistry /Immunohematology & Blood Transfusion /Pharmacology /Bacteriology /Serology /Hematology AND Five years’ relevant experience.
- Non-Medical (Essential): Master’s degree in Microbiology / Clinical Microbiology /Biotechnology / Bioinformatics / Biochemistry / Bacteriology / Physiology / Pharmacology /Serology /Molecular Biology with at least 60% marks AND 7 years’ of relevant experience; OR Ph.D in relevant discipline AND 3 years’ relevant experience.
Scientist Grade-III (Veterinarian)
- Essential Qualification: M.V.Sc degree Veterinary Medicine/ Veterinary Public Health/ Veterinary Microbiology/ Veterinary Pathology/Veterinary Epidemiology AND 2 years’ experience in Veterinary practice in corresponding field of work and in Lab.
Junior Scientist
- Essential Qualification: Master Degree in Microbiology/ Clinical Microbiology /Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics /Bio chemistry/ Bacteriology/ Pharmacology/ Serology/ Molecular Biology/Physiology AND minimum 1 year of experience in relevant areas mentioned in the notification.
Laboratory Technician
- Essential Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in biology (with Zoology & chemistry as subjects) or B.Sc. Microbiology or B.Sc. Biotechnology or B.Sc. Biochemistry or B.Sc. Molecular Biology and Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology; OR Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology. AND One year practical experience in Medical Laboratory /Research Institution.
Age Limit
The crucial date for determining the age limit shall be the last date of receipt of application i.e., 08.04.2026.
- Scientist Grade-II: Max. 45 Years
- Scientist Grade-III (Veterinarian): Max. 35 Years
- Junior Scientist: Max. 30 Years
- Laboratory Technician: Max. 30 Years
Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwD/Ex-Servicemen is applicable as per DoPT norms. Age concession of 5 years is allowed to Departmental Candidates and Central Government employees.
Selection Process
- For Scientist Grade-II and Scientist Grade-III (Veterinarian): Selection will be based on a Computer Based Examination (Objective Type Multiple Choice with 0.25 negative marking) and Personal Discussion. Merit list candidates (minimum 60% in CBE) will be called for personal discussion in a 1:10 ratio. Final selection is based on screening test score (40% weightage), credentials like experience/publications (30% weightage), and personal discussion (30% weightage).
- For Junior Scientist and Laboratory Technician: Selection will be based on a Computer Based Examination (Objective Type Multiple Choice). Merit list will be prepared from candidates obtaining qualifying marks (minimum 50% for GEN, EWS & OBC and 40% for SC/ST category).

- Candidates working in Central/State Govt. Departments/Public Sector undertakings etc. should submit a “NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE” and Vigilance clearance certificate at the time of document verification.
